Storage and organization advice that accounts for how New York City apartments are actually built.
Most small-space advice is written for a generic apartment that doesn't exist. It tells you to use vertical space, which you already knew, and recommends a product that doesn't fit your door, your radiator, or your lease.
This project takes the opposite approach: start from the constraint, measure it, cite it. A prewar solid-core door is about 1.75 inches thick, and most over-door racks are built for 1.375 inches. That single number decides whether a recommendation is useful or wasted money.

- Comparisons with real dimensions and real prices, dated so you know when they were checked
Prices, dimensions, and product specifications are recorded with their source and the date they were verified. Where something couldn't be verified, we cut it rather than soften it. Claims that go stale get re-checked or retired.
